(11,005 posts)With all four legs straight in the air! Silliest thing I've ever seen. One of my close friends had a greyhound. And I got to spend lots of time with that dog. She went over the Rainbow Bridge a few years ago. I miss her so much.

(11,005 posts)I had some good pictures of Racey, the Greyhound, when she was sleeping, but I can't find them. I just sent her Mom a text asking her to send me some if she still has them. Will post if I am successful.

(11,005 posts)She lived with other people, but we bonded like you can't believe. (In my heart, she was mine. I think she felt the same way.)
I'm the only person who could get her to run at the dog park. And any time she was acting somewhat sickly, her mom would call me to come over, because Racey always perked up when I walked in the room. 'Perked up' isn't quite the phrase I should use. It was more like she went nuts when I came in. LOL!
My heart absolutely aches over missing her.
Here she is, sound asleep.

And here she is in all of her glory. She was something else!

(11,005 posts)Where I live, we have a private dog park, residents only. And it's big enough that Racey could really get going.
Everyone would stop what they were doing, and just watch her. She was beauty in motion. You wouldn't hear a word spoken the entire time she was running. I think she somehow knew we were all in awe of her.

(11,005 posts)I'm always looking at that photo and telling her how much I miss her.
She really was my girl. I'm getting weepy just writing this. There was something extra special about her. All dogs are special, but she had a little something more in her that you can't describe, it's just there.

(4,230 posts)this year was a halt in greyhound racing in Florida, my neighbor adopted 2 of the former racers and I am so fortunate to see them every day walking in their little booties.
