I was given that test a few years ago. It was one of the first questions. A six year-old could do it.

Harry Nelson Pillsbury, an American chessmaster in the 1890s til his early death in 1906, was famous for his prodigious feats of memory. In 1902, he set a world record by playing twenty-two simultaneous games of chess blindfolded against master-caliber opponents. On one occasion, two university professors gave him a truly grueling memory test by having him memorize a list of thirty words read to him once. He not only repeated them in correct order, but also recited them in order backwards!--and then repeated the feat the next day with no difficulty, without hearing them again.

The words: Antiphlogistine, periosteum, takadiastase, plasmon, Threlkeld, streptococcus, Mississippi, Etchenberg, plasmodium, Salamagundi, philosophy, Freiheit, Bangmamvate, staphylococcus, Philadelphia, no war, Oomisillecootsi, athletics, Russian, micrococcus, Cincinnati, Piet Potgelter's Rost, catechism, Schlecter's Nek, American, theosophy, Manyinzama, Madjescomalops, humerus, ungulate.

I doubt Cockwomble could pronounce half of them, let alone memorize them.

He can call down the thunder.

He can require the rain.

HE HAS SPOKEN.

Praise be to the Orange Zeus.

The God of Words shall receive the extra points.

His words shall fill the sky with flames.

Glory shall be his.
