(25,848 posts)It's on Netflix. Five seasons and has a very satisfactory ending.
People of Earth. It's on Amazon Prime and is a delight. Alas, it was abruptly cancelled after the second season so basically it ends in the middle of a continuing story. Too bad.

(52,196 posts)Kinda cool seeing "Joey" as an *sshole actor.
And plenty of that great dry British sarcasm....

(1,697 posts)It's on Netflix and about 20-somethings with Autism/Aspergers looking to date. I love their quirkiness, honesty and conversation. It's not for everyone but I thoroughly enjoyed episode 1.

What did you think?
If you like comedies, I also suggest My Cousin Vinny and Dave on Hulu.

(2,203 posts)I think it is Amazon prime. I have only seen 4 episodes, but they are meant to mess with your mind and heart and I have liked watching them so far. Fair warning, they are v e r y s l o w l y paced - making them atmospheric and thoughtful - if you want action, these are not for you.

(2,203 posts)There has only been one season so far on HBO, but it is very intimate with gorgeous photography. Set in 50's Italy - you will want the subtitles if you do not speak Italian or the specific Italian dialect. From a young girl/womans point of view living in that culture at that time. I heard they actually took local people and turned them into actors for these roles, and they are so real.
I am still waiting for the next season. Again, like my previous suggestion, this is not for action lovers - it is a more emotional/introspective work.

(5,281 posts)If you don't mind subtitles. It's a fast paced intriguing story that is both a cop and a love story set in Istanbul. Passionate honest cop tries to take down local baddie--it sort of reminded me of our struggle with trumpo. Lots of iconic characters, well acted, sometimes funny, but also gives you a window on Turkish life and times. Very engaging and enjoyable. The scenarios and plots really kept the screenwriters busy!

(1 post)my friend recommended i watch Stateless on Netflix and i didn't think about it any more than ok i'll check this out but boy it was a ride.
it's about a detention facility in Australia that was shut down due to some violations of human rights and detainee abuse. after i finished the entire series in one very long night, it suddenly brought me to the realization that Australia might have more of a respect for refugees and undocumented immigrants than the US does, those abhorrent compounds the US built to separate families at the Mexico border coming to mind.
it left me emotionally drained and my heart was heavy, but it was refreshing to see some very accessible media about how western countries want to hold a duality of morals when filtering undocumented people in and out of their borders.

(3,266 posts)movie last night and it reached in and pulled my heart from my body. Granted I had an edible...
...and it happens to deal with issues Im currently struggling with, aging parents, lost heritages, old ways vs the new, life, death, and finding our purpose - (arent we all dealing with those?)...
... but was left with wracking sobs and wailing like a five year old. I found it on Showtime On Demand, but maybe Prime has it?
Incredibly beautiful messages, simply portrayed, elegantly written, beautifully filmed.

(16,935 posts)I listen to audio books on You Tube. I found 18 seasons of Midsomer Murders on You Tube, some Inspector Morse, A Touch of Frost and Inspector Wexford. I really like English mysteries. I discovered Frost and Wexford, and they are fun. I like any of the mysteries by Simon Brett, audio books. I hadn't read anything by him, and they are well written and clever.
I like watching concerts. My current favorite is Nathaniel Ratliffe and the Night Sweats. I could listen to them all day. I'll even play a song and let You Tube choose the next several songs.
Hope you find something entertaining.
