I keep my spray by the door and carry it whenever out away from the home place. I have been involved in public education programs regarding bears and bear spray use. You just have to be aware when you go out in the wild places around here, the wildness can kill or hurt you very badly.

When I 'm in their realm, I am not at the upper end of the food chain so I am very aware when I do go out.
