(63,221 posts)I love the way the dog is holding the watermelon with his little paws! He and dad seem quite content sitting there together. And that watermelon looks delicious!

(9,426 posts)Dressed alike, too. I have never seen a dog holding food like that before. Really cute.

(5,377 posts)Two dogs here, brother and sister.
Give them a breakfast biscuit to eat, and he crunches it daintily while holding it between his front paws.
She just crunches it and spreads crumbs everywhere. 8-)

Winner!
Mmmm . . . seedless watermelon! How can a dog with table manners refuse?

(13,036 posts)My yorkie loves watermelon too. The way this dog holds the watermelon slice reminds me of how my pup holds her Minty bone treat with her paws.

(68,542 posts)I said no dog and she was going back in the morning. She didn't go back in the morning or any morning. Lula was a year old had a tough life before we got her had been left out year round with no shelter and killed some chickens...the owner was going to shoot her but the neighbors saw him digging a grave and called the police...she ended up in one of the small groups that try to save dogs...she had every sort of worm imaginable, the shelter gave us back our donation in fact...our 'free' dog cost 1000's.
She was a pain in the neck and at first would not leave the house But soon she became a runner and boy she could run. She would chase anything that moved including joggers...and the kids always managed to let her out. They promised to care for her but we all know who's dog she became..she slept in a bed next to mine for 13+ years and as much as a pain in the ass that she was...I loved her dearly. I trained her and got a fence.
She started not being able to get up at 55 lbs she couldn't put the weight on her legs easily, but we gave her meds and insisted she would be fine. Lula wasn't fine...broke her leg and we had to make that decision that every pet owner has to at some point and put her to sleep. I held her in my arms ;she had been sedated so the leg didn't hurt, and it didn't take much time at all-it was just me no one else could stand to be there. but it is the last thing you can do for an animal you love, and I did it. I wept for days...not a day goes by that I don't miss that pain in the ass dog...her exploits were legendary but she was my dog.
