IRS tax refund stimulus checks

My nephew in California said he talked to someone at the IRS today. He was told that paper filers have not been processed since March. IRS is to start processing paper returns August first. Allow 6 weeks from then. He mentioned tax refunds and stimulus checks.

I don't know if this is helpful for all states. Passing it along in case anyone needs to know.

1. Hi Marthe48,

I was on with an IRS agent last week for a couple reasons. Finally I asked if she could shed some light on where my payment is. She says my check or cash card will be sent out July 31st.

We e-filed 2018, and I'm on DD SS so this should not have happened this way.

Who knows anymore...

And the second is in the works. That's terrible. I hope the second one doesn't take that long.

7. Yes, the first! As long as it comes thru this year and not next year as they were saying about some

instances.

3. IRS is obviously working paper returns. I and my other half got our refunds from our paper returns

TODAY! Oh joy!

Point is, is that the IRS obviously has been working paper returns already.

6. They told me the same thing last week when I called to ask where my refund is

I mailed paper return April 15th.

9. I filed paper return in March. Received my check in late June.

I did call and inquired about my return. About 2 weeks later I got the check.
