Guys, I've finally managed to nail this Quarantine Hair thing, and let me tell you, it's AWESOME.

It was seriously touch and go for a few weeks.

I was headed towards "Steve from Stranger Things" territory. A complete mess. It was getting out of control and the temptation to risk my health and visit a barber became almost unbearable.

And then, about a week ago, it all fell into place. Like magic.

I found just the right combination of mousse and gel, just the right way to part and comb so it stays manageable.

And now it just looks great.

Like really, really great.

Gives me just the amount of gravitas--the sense that, yes, times are tough. Things are not normal.

But I've a survivor and I can somehow manage to keep things under control until the all clear is given.

Dare I say, I think I might have entered Trudeau territory now. I really might have. Not joking at all.

Twelve years old.

Probably the first time I ever went to the barber by myself.

I told him I wanted a close cut.

He responded, "Like a buzz"?

I simply nodded, naively thinking "buzz" meant something akin to a "close cut."

By the end, I was mortified. A shaved head does not suit me well.

So, never again.

I have the blessing and the curse of thick hair and that's what I'm going to work with.

long line of draftees, six or eight barber chairs, loud voice announcing, "If you have any warts, moles, or scars, let the barber know." I have never seen, before or since, such a display of bloody scalps. The barbers seemed to take great pride in how fast they could shave a head. The look didn't suit me, either.

I have three feet of hair, when it needs trimming I just gather it all up in a ponytail and cut off a few inches and it's done! Easy peasy.
