A 1923 cartoon - When we all have pocket phones

AMAZING how accurate this was--

3. When you're *performing* a live concert !

One classical musician (violinist? can't remember) told of playing a piece in which there was a dramatic pause -- at which point someone's phone rang, interrupting the performance at the worst possible instant (cue numerous sounds of exasperation from the audience). One, it was out of key and he had to struggle to remember what note started the next phrase; two, he was frantically trying to remember if he had left his own phone in his pocket or not !

(Fortunately, he hadn't. The guilty party quickly silenced his phone).



One big one missing from the 'toon is "when you're trying to teach a class". And how could s/he miss "when you're driving" ?
