5. Teachers are so important, so critical, so underappreciated.

I loved all my teachers, even the ones I had conflicts with - they were the ones who taught me the most oftentimes.

It takes a special person to teach.

11. You wouldn't believe how much teachers spend out of their own pocket....

and how much of their free time they give up.

I didn't believe it either until my daughter started teaching and I got dragged into some of her projects.

12. I do believe it. We have a good friend who is a teacher,

we know how much she does for the kids on her own dime.

Also, one of our neighbors is a teacher and if it weren't for the fact that her husband makes a good living she would be in debt and not living in the house she has now.

Bravo for your daughter, she will be a hero to many young people.
