The garden harvest has begun so I worked a little kitchen magic, today

Just a small batch of stewed tomatoes, to start but next week I will be more productive. The aroma coming out of the kitchen is quite lovely so I doubt this batch will end up in the freezer.

We've had heat during the days and warmth at night - ideal weather. The forecast for next week will probably really send the ripening into overdrive, so I'll be doing a whole lot of stewing and sauce making.

It's been a truly horrible year for squash - both summer and hard shell. I'll have to rely on the Farmer's Market for those.
