I picked the cabbage from the garden yesterday and I estimate I have 30-35 pounds of it. I'll make 5 gallons of sauerkraut with that and use the rest to make another batch of my version of kimchi.
Picked tomatoes, hot peppers and green peppers this morning for the salsa. The pint jars are being washed in the dishwasher and I'll soon start on chopping the onions, hot peppers, green peppers, and tomatoes. The recipe I'm using doesn't require the tomatoes to be cooked or peeled. Just cored and chopped.
I'll pick the zucchini later to today to put in the dehydrator, after being seasoned, to make zucchini chips.
I have "White Punks on Dope" playing on Alexa in the kitchen.

I have a feeling that i will never have to be concerned about "storage" when it comes to zucchini chips.

(12,655 posts)2.5% salt by weight. Meaty peppers like jalapeños can be chopped and pounded until the salt draws out the juices enough to cover. Thin walled peppers like habaneros need added (non chlorinated) water. I added carrots to one batch to add a little sweetness, like sriracha. Its not done yet so I dont know yet if it was a success.
Enjoy the Excalibur! I borrow my siblings all the time.
Im going to go drool at a garden today. Considering buying a property and it has a huge greenhouse, hoop house and raised beds on it. It would really expand my gardening capacity.

(40,431 posts)I've made great progress on the garden this year and have a plan for the orchard as to what to plant and where to plant. I have room for a 40' row of raspberries, a 40' row of blueberries, 20 fruit trees (apples, plums, peaches, and pears) and a 2500 sq. ft. vegetable garden.
That property you are looking at appears to be a dream place!
Yeah if we do this move itll be a different gardening climate for me. Peaches are dicey but apples, pears, plums and berries are good. There is a small orchard on the property already but not huge.
Sounds like you have a great thing going!

What kind of monster are you anyway?
Probably one just like me, because all of that sounds so damn delicious!
Except for the cabbage. I love it, but my farts are so bad, they almost knock me out, and the worst part is there's no way to get away from it.
It follows me every-freakin-where!
