I've been a substitute teacher and an Uber driver for about 5 years and then was on Unemployment until the extra $600 a week ran out. Well, I finally got a work from home job. It doesn't pay a lot right away but there is a pay raise and health insurance after 60 days. And a $475 bonus after 60 days. I'll be supporting cell phones, laptops and computers. I'm excited. I did this for 17 years, 5 of them from home and I'm back to doing it again.

(149,611 posts)I am sure you are very relieved. And you'll be helping people who are not at all tech savvy and who need you so much!
Way to go!

(3,764 posts)I'll be learning. I'm used to supporting Windows and I will be supporting Apple products. But that's ok.

(3,764 posts)I loved doing it. I'd rather be getting $17.85 per hour like on my previous work from home Call Center job but this will be enough for the time being. Also, they give performance bonuses. And it's better than fast food jobs or substitute teacher.

(8,709 posts)There's real satisfaction in telecommuting at least liking what you do. But being at home doing what you love feels like a blessing no matter how overworked at home because you're there.
I wish you more success and peace of mind in your new endeavor.
