"YES!!!"

(115,899 posts)and almost never see actual live people, I probably won't be exposed to it anyhow. Still, I'm getting the shot like always. Don't want covid-19, don't want the flu, don't want bacterial pneumonia (got that vaccine, too). If His Lardship announces a covid-19 vaccine before the election, though, I might hold off on that one for a bit and just stay inside.

Her mother tested negative. Then we tested her entire family. Negative.
Her mother, panicked, and uncertain how her daughter could possibly have become infected, asked us to test her again.
We did.
Positive.
Don't take any chances.
Thank you for getting vaccinated against the flu. A patient already acutely ill with a respiratory disease is that much more vulnerable to COVID-19.

(115,899 posts)I've read that the tests sometimes show false negatives, so maybe one of those tested family members really was positive.
I'm definitely not taking chances. Too many people are letting their guard down but not me. I want to outlive Trump.

(32,118 posts)to not having to pay for my flu shot this year since I got insurance, yay, me! Its kinda crappy insurance but its better than nothing.
Last year, no insurance, hadda pay $56 for my flu shot at Walmart.

(66,478 posts)There are a few places that offer it for free, though. Walgreen's, for example.
Ohiogal
(32,118 posts)Walgreens and places like CVS and Rite Aid put up signs that say FREE FLU SHOTS!
But I found out when I inquired, thats very misleading... theyre only free if you have insurance!
You ask them what does it cost if you just pay for it yourself and they look at you like youre some kind of two headed freak, they stammer and say I dont know! Believe me, I went through that at 3 pharmacies.
Thanks for letting me know. I hate that kind of misdirection. But they're big wealthy corporations, so I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised...
Ohiogal
(32,118 posts)That actually gave me a price.
At the grocery store pharmacy that I usually patronize, they told me $89. After much looking up on a computer screen and whispering discussions among several parties in charge of the pharmacy out of my hearing range....
Can you tell how much I love pharmacies??
