Some really positive news

So my mom just had her final mortgage payment and now owns her house in full. I guess you can say it's a bit double edged since I sacrificed my savings of 10 years to help put her over the top. She was short 9500. But I transferred all I had in my savings with the exception of a few hundred extra she didn't need.

I guess this qualifies for good news right?

I hope your name is on the deed jointly, just in case the unthinkable happens.

That was really sweet of you to help her out!

If you get sued, for whatever reason, they’ll go after all your resources. Hopefully, she’ll put you in her will.

with the money she's not having to pay on a mortgage? Or are you able to live with her and not pay rent?

Because it would be good for you to have a little savings again. But this was such a wonderful thing you did. Your mother must feel very loved.

I'm getting my savings back within a year and I keep paying rent until I can make my own payment on a home of my own
