I almost drowned in a rip tide once and that was enough to chase me from doing anything more than wading knee deep.

From the nearest ocean but we have big rivers and I will wade really closed to getting pulled in sometimes but I never do. I will float the river when it's late summer and the water, though very swift, is rather shallow. I always wear a life vest, bought my own so I can always have one handy.

if I do want to enjoy time in the sun, I stay poolside. I also like lakes as well, but I am pretty much done with swimming in the ocean. Besides the rip-tide scare, I'm not too fond of run-ins with sea creatures either!

I watched Endless Summer and fell in love. I have never surfed and probably too old to try, but if I have a favorite sport, it is surfing!
