CometTV has been showing Godzilla movies all day. On now: "Ebirah, Horror of the Deep"

It's described thus:

Godzilla and Mothra team up to destroy a giant shrimp. Akira Takarada, Toru Watanabe, Hideo Sunazuka.

It's in Japanese too. It's not hard to follow.

Toho wanted to follow up on the financial success of King Kong vs Godzilla with a franchise starring the monster monkey, but shortly before shooting it was decided to convert it to another Godzilla flick instead. This is why Big G's behavior is so unusual, and the island has random kaiju lurking about. (Kong would get both an anime series--known in the US as The King Kong Show--and a movie based on that series--King Kong Escapes--within the next couple of years.)
