I'm scheduled to sell my house today

It is a long story, and it has taken a long time to get to this point, but at 1 pm, I will be meeting with the buyer to sign the closing papers.

It is a house we moved to, our dream of a big house. My husband was diagnosed with cancer less than 2 years later. We had not sold our previous home, and because it was a ranch style, moved back. It was easier for him. He passed away, and I was left with 2 houses. Maybe after today, things will be less complicated.

John passed away in 2017. I don't know that I am used to his absence, but it is easier to get on with my life. Had the house for sale for about 2 years, first fsbo, then with a realtor, didn't really care what happened. We loved the house, even though it had no off-street parking, and that hampered finding a buyer. The house is brick built in 1928, with all original woodwork and flooring, pocket doors. The doors all have their own keys. The bedrooms have really nice old lino type carpets in beautiful shape. The walkout basement has a concrete floor and the attic is finished. Has about 1200 sq. ft. of space on each floor. Even so, it was cheaper to heat and cool than our much smaller ranch. We liked this house because the rooms were open and full of light. The wall divisions made sense. Covered front porch, screened in back porch. Slate roof. Tiled non-working fireplaces. 3 bedrooms. Even with so much, people wanted off-street parking. We discovered a small parking pad covered with dirt and cleared it. We parked the Prius there a couple of times. it was a tight fit, but okay. We got it uncovered and got this buyer.

She made an offer earlier this year, then backed out. I think I'm more worried about closing, afraid she'll change her mind at the last minute. We'll see in about an hour

We were happy to buy it, and live there. I hope the new owner can invest time and money into it, not just to make it her own, but to preserve and extend its life. Plenty of pictures
