There was a neighborhood cat that looked a lot like mine, and I'd try to get her to come into the house. She never did. Sigh.

31. I had a beautiful pure black cat...

Driving up a slight hill to my house I was horrified to catch the glint of his eyes in my headlights and see the motionless body of my cat in the middle of the road. I carefully drove around him, parked the car, and then, broken-hearted went back to collect his body, which I immediately buried in my garden. About 30 minutes later there was a scratching at my door; it was my beautiful black cat. I had buried and mourned a look alike.

I felt terrible; someone’s cat was missing and wouldn’t be found but what was I to do? Dig up the look-alike and put him back on the road?

8. The two parakeets brought a sad smile to my face

I had one that looked like the white-headed one in the pic, but it died three weeks ago. Fred was a lot of fun and joy to the house!
