My pops came back from Japan on business with one of these new-fangled devices, with two CD's ... Thriller, and Concerts In China.

Oxygene and Equinoxe were a big part of my very early pot smoking years circa 1980

Heard it in full on a radio programme of experimental music, and immediately went out and bought the LP. Loved the first side particularly, and had a whole other-worldly SF video playing in my mind to which it was the soundtrack whenever I listened to it. It knocked most of the German electronica of the time into a cocked hat as far as I was concerned.

I loved Equinoxe as well, again side 1 particularly, but the novelty was gone. Then came Magnetic Fields. Alright, not bad, not great.

Didn't really like anything he did afterwards, sadly. Got the Oxygene sequels but they made no real impression on me.

Maybe it's me that's changed. But then I still love Oxygene and Equinoxe.
