Of Turkish jails. But, downtown our drivers routinely drove on the sidewalks! There were so many pedestrians and the streets had more room. So the pedestrians used the streets and cars would go up on the sidewalk. Istanbul was the best place then....unless you were one of the beggars. They had it rough. My parents were lucky that I was young and stupid or I'd have brought them home!
