I started laying the kitchen tile today

The whole house is porcelain tile...most of it is wood look, the bathrooms will be marble look, and the kitchen looks like an old barn floor. Two bedrooms and the hall are already down.

Helpful hint: if you’re laying tile, invest in a floor leveling system. The one I have is these little hard plastic flaps you shove a plastic wedge into. It makes getting the edges even extremely easy.

floating vinyl planks (wood look). I hope you're not as frustrated as they are. I guess it's a good thing they have tomorrow off also.

...door moldings.

I used a wet saw and clippers mostly, slowly and carefully, cutting thin parallel lines into the areas that had to fit, a circular rasp for the parts needing slight refinements. It was a magnificent feeling when one of them fit; I recall one customer who asked for a diagonal floor pattern for one of those cuts.

I still remember the work going into some of them.

I did this professionally for a time to fund my education. I hated doing it but now remember those cuts fondly and it was nice to be working for myself.
