(2,019 posts)That's where the saying "yellow-dog Democrat" comes from. David Brinkley used to explain that term during Election Night returns on NBC every four years. He said that back in the days of The Solid South, the saying was that if the Democrats nominated a yellow dog, Southern Democrats would vote for him. Three years and eight-plus months of that orange con man in the White House have turned me into a yellow-dog Democrat, if I wasn't one already.
Anyway, if you can amend your poll to add "A yellow dog" to your list of options, that's the one I'll vote for.
