Right now, my current obsession is Byzantine liturgical music. A choir down in Portland specializes in music from the Byzantine Empire, some of it nine hundred to a thousand years old. On their latest release, they added a sound filter to their recording that made it sound like it was being sung in the Hagia Sophia, in Istanbul, the former head church of the Byzantine Empire.

A little trepidation. I'm confident Joe Biden will win. The trepidation comes from realizing I felt confident Hillary Clinton would win back in 2016.

46. Tried a really bad vodka tonight.

Vodka is not one of my usual beverages. I decided to try some vodka, oj, and ginger ale tonight. I had a bottle of Bay Street left over from a visiting brother-in-law. I took two sips, poured the drink out and started over. Next up was a bottle of leftover Blu Star. Palatable- all I ask of a vodka. Life is good.

48. I always thought vodka was a scam... To be called "vodka" it must be distilled to 95% pure ETOH

All the conjoiners or almost all of the things that give it flavor and character are distilled away. then it is diluted down to your 50% for 100 proof vodka. Put some cheap vodka in a grey goose bottle and listen to the people rave about the taste. Bullpucky.
Makers Mark bourbon is distilled to 120 proof so all the flavors of the corn, winter wheat etc are still in there and give it the taste. Same with Scotch, Rye, Rum etc...
Dont' get me wrong, I like vodka but I don't go crazy with price. Tito's works for me YMMV
