Is anyone else having problems with watching videos on YouTube?

I can no longer watch videos because now they run in fits and starts and that round disk is constantly turning so it's really impossible to access videos, which I could do 3-4 days ago.

Yes! but somewhat different. Casting to t.v., the vid is playing on t.v. all right, but UTUSN Oct 2020 #6

the navigation from the android disappears (can't Stop/Search, casting icon gone) and there's a message, "Can't be played in the background."

Iow, it looks like the YouTube switches over from being controlled by the android into the YouTube on the Smart TV.

There's a hint that my internet connection (for YouTube only) gets interrupted. Laptop still connected fine. I've been going to Source to stop the YouTube on the t.v. and start over on the phone. Or else on the Settings for the phone re-connect the internet.

This started about a month ago.
