planning a trip of there as soon as this plague dies down.
my ex married an irish cop from donnybrook. he says they arent real fond of americans that think they are irish.
i think she is just that kind of a person. i mean, she is a retired chicago cop. but a touch of a brogue to pass a little cant hurt.
i'm taking voice lessons. so, this is sorta a 2 birds 1 stone kind of thing.

i've actually hooked up w a couple cousins over there, and they have been delightful.
in fact, i hooked up w an adoptee looking for family. she found me, and now she has about 100 cousins. she's plain thrilled.

I was in Dublin years ago. I found the Irish very welcoming. I discovered that if I told people I was from Arkansas and had actually met Bill Clinton, it was always good for at least one free Guinness. (Clinton is a hero because of the Good Friday accords.) When in a pub, my Arkansas accent became so thick you couldn't cut it with a knife - then again, that often happens after a couple pints.

Make it clear that you find the English a lower life form and you'll be fine. My son has been in Dublin more recently, he reports that it's also important that you are clear you think Trump is even lower than a Sasanach.

got me started watching You Tube of similar events - I made the mistake of looking up why there would have been 10,000 guests at a wedding in the first place

Weirdly fascinating and now I find my self looking for some that I have not seen.

that irish voice is cuz they sing from the roof of their mouth.
when they belt it out, it comes from their nose.

you're exonerated.

it's been great fun. i'm planning a trip over there and knowing the drinking songs should help wipe a bit of the american smell off.
i'm entitled to dual citizenship, so i will do that first. but yeah, how can i fit in if i dont now the drinking songs?

that's how i want to be remembered. i want to be laid out on the table in my own dining room table! i have a well stocked liquor cabinet.
then i want a second line parade.

that little drum- i have the native american version. i found a cousin in ireland that is trying to talk me out of it. i was playing along w the drinking songs. turns out to be easy, cuz they all have the same beat.

that was really fun. thanks.
you're invited to have a drink any time you are in chicago.
