My wife, our two big dogs (little Betts had to stay home) - at Daniels Ridge Loop trail in the Pisgah National Forest (our new playground - about 20 minutes from our house). Boy, do we love it here - we wonder what took us so long to get out of Raleigh and 4 hours west out to here! Pictures taken with my Pixel 3XL phone.
It was a roughly 6 mile loop hike - thank goodness for walking sticks! - took us from 10 am until 3 PM...we took our time. Lots of roots, rocks, leaves, acorns (and we both have bad knees!) We figure the dogs did about 12 miles.

(61,857 posts)Marlin is the nearly white one - 60 lbs, mostly lab - maybe a dash of hound. 2 yrs old.
Koda is really unique - also 60 lbs, 3 years old - we think mix of Aussie and Golden.

(40,575 posts)during this anxiety ridden time. Nothing like getting outdoors on a nice day. You are lucky to have such a beautiful spot so close to your house, and such wonderful walking companions!
I did the same thing yesterday but only took 1/2 hour walk in a little local park. You beat me posting my pictures..

(61,857 posts)I actually love colors, forms, details, different objectives. I shoot a LOT of pics and every now and then the pic shows what I see with my eyes. With my wife a quilter, she often asks me for my opinion on layout and color. It's really fun - since I am horrible at drawing/painting!

(11,005 posts)But I have to admit, I'm partial to the one with the dogs in the water. I just love seeing dogs playing in water. They are so happy when they get to do that.
I'd be right in there with them, wet shoes and all.

(433 posts)Damnit, that's what I should have done today. It was so lovely out, I should have just said 'F* you Uber' and go down to the valley. Don't have dogs to accompany me, but it still would have been wonderful nonetheless. Thanks for the view of a reprieve from the bullshit of the moment.
