I'm sure that the early car manufacturers didn't foresee gridlock and traffic jams. Imagine unrestricted cars everywhere on earth three-dimensionally. What a nightmare future that would be.

Airplanes are regulated by air traffic controllers. We're not there with flying cars.
It's going to take a lot of trial and error to work out lanes, altitudes, takeoffs and landings.
