There was a 3-hour wait to vote in person. Everyone was standing calmly and deliberately. Patient! Weather wasn't too bad, fortunately. Yesterday, it was raining as they were voting.

This is a blue county in a red state, so I was heartened to realize that probably 50% or more of the vote will be early. I keep hearing the Trump voters talking about how mail ballots are bad, and they're going to wait to vote, and I cheer. Are they going to stand in line for hours to vote for Trump? Maybe some will, but if there's a long line on election day, many will shrug and go home, thinking, oh, it won't matter, this is a red state.

The enthusiasm and determination seem to be on the Democratic side. And if most of those votes are banked by the weekend... well, that's good, because nothing that happens after (like rain or snow on election day) will change those votes.

I'm proud of us.
