In many countries, it is customary not only to hug but give a faux kiss on each cheek. In Japan, you bow. In Thailand, you do the wai. I wonder if customs have had a measurable effect on transmission rates.

translucent, large sized plastic bags. I was visualizing whether I could find one large enough for my hands and arms to remain free enough for a hug. Then I would have to get someone to spray the bag with disinfectant so I could exit it safely. I would have to find a bag large enough to hold enough air and breathing space for the whole transaction to take place without having to worry about fainting.

Am I weird?

of my personal space to be kind of a relief. Obviously many other people need it but I'm not one of them. I hope when all of this is over you huggers can do your thing, but please, not to me.
