That does it. I'm turning off the news & watching ANYthing else. Potter, Fantastic Beasts, LOTR...

Oh here’s Like Water for Chocolate, how about that?

Sorry to intrude on the Lounge, but the insanity just got to me, bigly. What are you guys doing instead of the news for the next 4+ days?

Some channel keeps playing them. I find it soothing to watch.
Don’t think I could do LOTR. Too heavy.

Not to be confused with that other video program where people laugh at people getting hurt. This one is uplifting.

We started the old (1967) Forsyte Saga last night. Just finished the incredible history of Country Music (Ken Burns - PBS).

Doing news on the web, not TV or radio, really makes for a happier life! (IMHO)

I recently discovered I had a free TV service, called Pluto TV, accessible via my smart Tv's connection to the wireless in my house. I have discovered a whole channel dedicated to early Doctor Who (the first eight Doctors). Another channel is all James Bond movies, and another is a mix of other British shows, of which the only one I know is Doc Martin. There's tons more I haven't even begun to check out.

Everything I click on turns out to be a shill for certain channels. I guess to be free they have advertising, and they all want you watching THEIR ads. I'm certainly not spending money on a 'box' to find I get it all already some other way on this 'smart tv'. I've only been delving into this Pluto TV for a week now, and there's a ton of stuff on the Smartcast input, like Netflix, Prime, Hulu, Apple Tv, YouTube TV, Peacock, Xumo, and more than I could ever figure out anyway.

...over about as many days. Hamish is a Scots policeman in a tiny village — we read a bunch of the books several years ago & for some reason I recently started remembering them. Then poof! along came the series.

But tonight we are watching Like Water for Chocolate, & it is as magnificent and intense as we remembered.
