(33,643 posts)That was actually one of the first 'horror' movies I ever saw, I was like 8.
Not really horror, but definitely creepy AF.

(33,643 posts)I got really stoned and watched The Ring all by myself for the first time.
I was afraid of the TV for like 2 weeks after that
Tonight I'll be playing a VR game that's actually freaking scary (in certain sections) called Half Life - Alyx. I'm almost done, I'm expecting it to get pretty intense.
Scariest game I ever played was S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl. It has these underground labs full of freaky shit ... and when I played that I was alone, playing in the basement of my folks house in the mountains. At one point I was just like ... NOPE. I shut it off and waited til the next morning so it was daylight out. I was 40 yo at the time lol ...

The origins of the "slasher flick" can be traced back to Italy, but it was this Canadian import that helped the sub-genre find its footing in North America. Four years before Michael Myers began his Halloween night rampage, this holiday-themed tale of a stalker roaming a sorority house struck a solid chord with the midnight movie crowdand it still holds up surprisingly well today.
