Kind of have this monkey face thing going on.

These are awfully big, especially for babies. I'm used to the little bitty guys. Wonder what type they are?

Length: Grey-headed flying fox: 11 in., Black flying fox: 10 in., Great flying fox: 11 in.

❤ most all bats (exception being the Vampire bats of Central and South America).
The insects eating ones keep our neighborhood mosquito problem down and folks here build "bat houses" for them.

On edit: I first thought this lady was in the UK but she's an Aussie in Australia! Love her sweet voice.

It was supposed to be a "nursery" bat house. We never saw any evidence that it got any use, though. Our house backed up to a lake and we welcomed bats for the mosquito control. We were disappointed the bat house sat empty.

All flying foxes are bats or more accurately, mega-bats (big bats). Commonly known as fruit bats, their diet is made up of nectar, pollen and fruit – in that order.

Flying foxes don't use sonar like the smaller, insect-eating bats. They can also see as well as a cat at night and are super smart.
