I had a weird breach of the whole 'sleep paralysis' situation, last night, during a dream.

Someone had pushed me to my absolute limit and I had grabbed them by the hair on their head (which, strangely, was a really badly bleached combover) and kicked hard at their mid-section. And that kick was what breached the sleep paralysis. Of course it woke me up. Thankfully I kicked air and not a wall OR poor Sophie Stinky Toes, but my heart was absolutely pounding out of my chest. It was 3:30, and that was pretty much it, for sleep. In retrospect, I probably should have taken a cannabis gummy, last night.

That happened to me once before when I had a dream about someone with whom I had just ended a relationship. He said something really offensive, to me, and in my dream I swung at him so hard it broke through being just a dream and I almost fell out of bed!

Now, admittedly I do have a bad temper but fortunately I limit my physical 'acting out' to my dreams.

believe that nightmares let you go nuts while you sleep so you don't go nuts when you're awake.

PS-is Sofie Stinky Toes a kitty? Stinkle Toes is one of the many names I call my KittyBoi

How isolated are you Siwsan? I feel badly if you're very isolated, it's not good for mental health.

I'm vibing Peace, Love and Joy to you my DU friend

I do make runs to the store during 'vulnerable shoppers' hour, if I need something. And my niece, her hubby and my brother have all offered to do shopping for me.

They do all want to come by for Thanksgiving but I'm taking it day to day. My niece and hubby are working from home but my brother drives a school bus so I have some hesitation about him coming by, too often. He had Covid, back in March so I KNOW he's taking every precaution, and there are very few kids on his bus, but it's still a worry.

What I have to watch is that, normally, I don't ever get really sick. My brother was here several times, before we KNEW he had Covid, and not just a cold, and while he was ultra contagious, but I either didn't catch it (I had an actual cold, at the time) or if I caught it I was asymptomatic. I've never had the flu, survived a run in with carbon monoxide, sailed through a case of shingles and even got through boot camp with a raging upper respiratory infection. So, I tend to think I'm invulnerable. However, I'm just smart enough to know that could be my downfall so I'm not going to take any chances.

Thanks for the vibes!!!

My niece would stop by to drop off something I might really need, like flour (she didn't want me going out, AT ALL) and we'd have a quick chat at a great distance. I didn't see my brother, at all, until the end of May. I'm one of those very tactile people and the lack of human touch was just awful.

Once the weather warmed, I was able to get out and do some yard and garden work and chat with neighbors, again at a great distance.

Two times, in the early years we were married, he had episodes and I dreamed he was in trouble and needed me. I woke up and shook him, both times, and he came out of it. The first time, he described his dream to me, and a few days later, there was an event in the news that was eerily similar. He was so-so about ESP and other abilities, so whatever happened that first time was an exceptional event.

We learned that if he was very physcially tired, he should try to sleep on one side or the other, but not his back. He rarely had them as he got older and was able to break out of it on his own. There were a few times I thought he was in trouble and shook him awake, but he wasn't. lol

Glad you got out of it okay, although if you were dreaming about something with a bleached combover, it seems like it was more of a nightmare!

Buried stress I bet is affecting us all glad it comes out in dreams instead of manifesting in a less secure place.
The winds yesterday shut off our power at halftime during the Lions game, came on at about 10 this morning. We were looking forward to unplugging for today probably still will why change good plans?
Happy you got thru the night, kinda.

I lost power for a whole week, after the 2013 ice storm, and that taught me to not let my guard down. And, yea, stressing about a power loss, added to everything else that's going on, probably short circuited my sleep control.
