1. I was in Catholic elementary school when this came out

The only field trip to a movie was to see this film. I'm not sure if the whole school went the same day or was staggered.

Most of us kids cried our eyes out.

2. My mother appeared in a local production of the play as Mrs. Frank about forty years ago.

After which, I read the book. It plunged me into a depression that lasted a couple of years. It didn't help that was when I hit adolescence.

3. Have you seen the BBC version - 5 part series

Acting, screenplay, set/costume design - all first rate. Maybe cos of the greater length they were able to get much deeper into the story and the characters - esp. Anne. Totally believable as a 13 yr old girl. The final scenes are absolutely devastating. It was streaming on Netflix, not sure if it still is.
