(13,360 posts)I do remember my last music concert, it was a week before shutdown in March... Nahko and Medicine for the People.

(12,154 posts)I honestly can't remember, but I did see that in a theater, and that was toward the end of the Before Times, so that's as good a guess as any.
My wife and I normally see movies on the big screen at least a couple of times a month. Looking forward to resuming that -- hope our favorite theaters don't go under.

(26,044 posts)We don't go to the theaters that much. I'm thinking it was probably the sequel to Fantastic Beasts, a couple (?) of years ago.
To be frank, that's probably one thing I don't miss from the shutdown of things during the pandemic. Unless something is a film I really want to see, I don't have a big love for traveling about half an hour away to overpay to sit through half-an-hour of coming attractions of superhero and horror movies (each played back at around 175 dB), to watch whatever it is from a sub-optimal seat, when I can just wait and watch it at home in a few months.

(86,536 posts)A couple years ago. A couple years before that was "Tracks" a documentary which also had Adam Driver in it though I had no idea when I went to these movies that he was in them until the movies were rolling on the screen.
I don't like movie theaters but I saw both of these at the small theater on campus at my alma mater with some old friends who were faculty when I was a student, I go back to visit on occasion.

(25,845 posts)I can't recall the specific movie.
I love going to a real theater. I have the wonderful good fortune to live in Santa Fe, NM, where we probably have the most screens per capita anywhere in the country, possibly in the world. Let's see. A fourteen plex about a mile from me. A six plex about two miles away. A two screen art theater about five miles away. The Jean Cocteau, a sort of art theater, near downtown, but far more eclectic than that, owned by George RR Martin. You might have heard of him. Two other single screen art-house sorts of places.
I do look forward to going to a real movie theater again. I am a sucker for the popcorn. I sneak in my own bottle of water. Someday, it will happen again.
And there are just some movies that should absolutely be seen on a big screen. Unfortunately, with the younger generation watching movies on their smart phones (really, really?) and the current lack of open theaters, that will take time to recover. It won't be gone forever, but I wouldn't be surprised if we go through a few years where movies are designed very specifically to be watched on smaller screens.

I have been to very few movies over the past 36 years. My wife is not a native speaker and she prefers closed captioning to make sure she doesnt miss a thing. So all our viewing is done at home.

(16,935 posts)I went with my daughter and grand kids during their Christmas break. It was an animated movie, called Sherlock Gnomes. It was awful! But it was fun to be out with the kids. We went to a theater with recliners.
I saw A Quiet Place with my neighbor maybe right before that or right after.
