It's the kind of picture you just want to jump into and explore. Aside from the lovely monk and the sweet kitty...there's the gardens and the monastery, the distant mountain range (the alps?) ... and why are all those people gathered there?

who passed away 5 years ago.

He was the most affectionate, sweet-tempered cat I have known. I used to joke that I named him wrong and should have called him Mr. Love. He charmed everyone he saw, just like the kitty in the photo with the monk.

at a pet shelter. His name was Oliver. I was at the pet shelter with my friend because she was looking for a dog, which she found that day. Anyway, I was totally charmed by this cat and wanted to adopt him but I had a full house of cats (four). I often think of Oliver and have so many regrets that I didn't go for a fifth. He would have been with four female cats! But he could have handled it, I'm sure.

The shelter people told me he hadn't been there long but in that short amount of time, he'd charmed everyone and virtually ran the cat section. They called him the "mayor."

All I could see was the way the cat leaned into his hand.

We all need a little love and attention, even the animals in our world. I would give the kitty a scratch and cuddle anytime.
