The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsMy wife is going to kill me and I
deserve it. But it's so funny.
When she asks me to do something I don't want to do I go limp. Not playing dead, just limp and catatonic. She gets really strident and soon begins pulling at me. It is so hard not to laugh. I wish I wasn't so big. I believe she would have dragged my limp carcass all the way to the car today. Immature, I know. But she does it to me too but usually gives in faster.
If the timing is right and she does a particularly vigorous pull, I fart as loud as I can. Then I pretend to snap out of it and deny all knowledge of the incident. Then I do my chore

(3,394 posts)Ages ago I had a spouse and we hated doing shit like grocery shopping and he tried to get me to do it but he always complained about what I bought. We already had a thing where laundry had been addressed like this... I wash MY stuff and he can wash HIS stuff and when it comes to shared stuff like sheets, towels, etc... we BOTH had to go do it, I made it clear that I was not his maid. We worked as a team in a semi for a time and since I had to do half of everything related to maintenance and fueling and handling the freight, he had to do the other stuff too, not just me.
Once we got a place to live, we also had grocery shopping to do and we both hated it, so we had to do that together too, in order to avoid bickering later we did it in the store, as five year olds.
We whined and argued over cookies and toilet paper while people looked and moved away. Some items got tossed like footballs and we were just the entertainment nobody asked for. We made ourselves and others laugh, though. It was the only way we could get through it.
