I am so ready to move. The siren/announcement

in my 23 story high rise apartment building went off around 11 pm. Everyone walk to exits and do not take the elevator. OK. Down 17 flights of stairs on my 3 joint replacements. All the way down all I could think was I was so glad Snowy didn't have to do it. I couldn't have carried her.

Water was gushing out of the apartment two doors down from me but I didn't stop to see if there was fire. No smoke, but a terrible smell. Probably from the water and wet stuff.

Two fire trucks on the street when I got out. Not many residents. Back up via elevator after about 40 minutes. I heard the tenants telling the fire fighter there was no smoke and no fire. Thank goodness the water has not come down the hallway to my apartment. But it will be a mess on this floor for weeks. Empty the apartment. Rip up the hallway carpet and replace. Repair the water damage in the apartment.

I'm tempted to call the movers to come put everything in storage and move to a hotel, but I probably won't.

I guess 2020 isn't done being a year to forget quite yet.

to a house being built. It's due to close right before Christmas, but the moving company I use is already booked the week between Christmas and New Years. Just got the notice of closing last Friday.

If you have any melatonin on hand, you could take one of those. They really (normally) work.
