It may be well-concealed. Run your hands around the frame, especially bottom corners and see if you feel a button on the back or bottom or side, often there will be a bump or a ridge. There may be other concealed buttons near that, but they assume you're going to use a remote most of the time.

She told me to locate the power button on the TV.

Looked and felt around for 20 minutes.

I swear there are no buttons.

on the bottom of the frame on the lower right corner. I had to feel around for it. If you push on it the TV will turn on and the other controls will appear on the screen. I've never used it. Find your TV's user manual on the Internet; that's how I located the switch.

"On newer Samsung TVs there is generally a joystick type control on the back of the TV on the lower right or left. Pressing in on the joystick will turn on the TV and subsequent presses will pull up the menu and you can navigate using the joystick and pressing it to select a function (including power off)."

But model number will lead to best info.

or a Dumb TV?

If it's a Smart TV, then it assumes you know what you are doing because you are human and should be smarter than the TV.

If its a Dumb TV, then there are no buttons because it is DUMB
