PSA ..... careful of sending the Guardian any money

Was feeling charitable and sent them a ONE time payment of 20.00. checked the one time payment box.
This was early Nov.
Just now got a notice from my paypal account they charged 135.00 to it.
Was able to stop the payment.
That was too easy to rip me off tho, I just happened to be checking my account.

But if it helps any, I’ve been on the $69/yr “membership” plan for nearly 4 years, auto-paid once per year without any extra charges. I really appreciate their journalism, more than almost any other news source in the US.

it might have been another culprit, seeing as how the entire balance of uneven figures was sucked out, not a rounded figure, over 100.00 tho.
Well, at any rate, Paypal quickly made it right.

Methinks we will be hearing of lots of scams coming out of this horrible year.

I have given them money before and haven't had a problem. I don't think, but I don't always check my bank charges that carefully though. I will from now on. Thanks for the heads-up.
