'The Waltons' Cast To Bring In New Year For 'Stars In The House'

Don’t say “Good night, John-Boy” just yet. The cast of The Waltons will come together for the first Stars in the House reunion of 2021.

Nearly every one of the surviving original cast members will join Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley for the January 7 episode of the Actors Fund benefit series on YouTube. Set for the virtual get-together are Richard Thomas (John-Boy Walton), Michael Learned (Olivia Walton), Mary Beth McDonough (Erin Walton), Eric Scott (Ben Walton), Kami Cotler (Elizabeth Walton) and Judy Norton (Mary Ellen Walton). That leaves just two absentee brothers: Jon Walmsley, who played Jason Walton, and David W. Harper, who played Jim-Bob Walton.

The cast is expected to reminisce about their time on the iconic 1970s family drama and answer fan questions.

conservative values.

Even George H.W. Bush opined that the world "needed to be more like the Waltons".

This despite the fact that liberal values were an important part of the long-term narrative of the show.

The show's writer and creator, Earl Hamner, Jr., Ralph Waite (John Walton), and Will Geer (Grandpa Walton) were all outspoken liberals and progressives.

that Will Geer was on the blacklist. Just checked, he was and he was also friends with Woody Guthrie.

My family ancestors lived on one of the mountains close to the mountain the called for the show Waltons Mountain. That always amused me. I can believe it too.

I LOVE Seth Rudetsky! I listen to his podcast and went to his show and met him when I was in New York. For all the oldies, we were spending the day and evening with another old DUer, Thomcat.

I bet this will be fun and The Actors Fund is a worthwhile donation.
