Just 48 hours remain in the Trump presidency. I discovered DU shortly after his term began and joined shortly after I lurked for a couple months. I was looking for a place where I could talk about Democratic ideals, something I desperately needed considering I live in a deeply red county in Indiana.

Since then, I spend no less than a couple hours a day surfing DU, it gave me the confidence to join my local Democratic party and work to help flip the mayoral seat blue in 2018 (which we did!!).

I don't post a ton, and I'm far from the most relevant posters here. But regardless, as Trump's term comes to an end, I just wanted to say thank you to DU and all it's posters for keeping me sane over the last 4 years.

1. Sounds similar to my story.

I found DU right after the election in 2016 and waited for it to come back on line. I’m in the Florida Panhandle and this place has been my source of sanity. So many great posters. Anyone else looking forward to giving hearts?

And the county I lived in was deep red. I now live in a blue state but stuck in a red county.



I registered in 2012 but I didn't have anything to say until 4 years ago. Glad that you're here to share in our ups and downs, bearsfootball516. Here's to better days ahead and to DU!
