Happy news about my stimulus money

My stimulus was sent to a closed bank account. But I just checked Get My Payment today, and I am getting a check mailed on Feb 2! My mom’s status did not change yet, but I bet it will. She’s on Social Security.

1. My husband and I are on Social Security

We received a mailed check yesterday. We were quite surprised, as last year we didn’t get ours for many months after others got them. I think it finally came in mid July.

I didn’t know if I was getting anything due to my closed account. So I am pleasantly happy!

I just hope my mom gets hers.

3. Many payments come as a debit card from Economic impact....

A lot of people think it’s just some ad for a credit card, junk mail.

4. One of our neighbors is having a really hard time.

He got the 600 but that extra 1400 would really help him. Do you think that will pass? Will it take a long time? I am thinking of loaning him a little bit, he has 3 small kids.

I know how that feels. My financial situation is also awful. I am not sure when it will pass, but hopefully by late February or March.

8. I hope he gets called back to work soon.

His wife cleaned for a local hotel who let her go in June, he was let go in April and has not been called back. The neighbors have been trying to find odd jobs for him, he won't take any help he doesn't work for. These damn Republicans don't give a damn about people like Ryan and his wife and kids.

Biden getting in might have even changed the attitude of the IRS.

I hope their situation and mine get better. Could they file for the unemployment insurance? I still want my correct deposit info on file if/when the $1,400 comes.

11. The oil companies hire a lot of people as

private contractors so the cannot get unemployment or workmanship comp. These assholes know what they are doing. I hope you get what you need too!

Why they could do April in about a week and can't do this in 6 weeks? I'm wondering if someone changed my bank info at Treasury. But that's me, I can concoct worry-items at will.

.... and according to the get my payment tool, ours was scheduled to be sent out on January 6th. Both checks finally arrived today. It's going to help, but not nearly enough.

12. Update: my mom's status also finally changed

Hers is being mailed on Feb 5.
