4 Reasons Why Scam Calls Never, NEVER STOP !!!!!

1. Easy to set up

2. Scammers very rarely get caught, tried, and convicted...(very rarely, if ever)

3. Very cheap to set up

4, A certain percentage of those calls work, and the scammers make lots, and lots, and lots of money...
............and the scammers know that ahead of time...

5. That's the way I look at it. Just because I have a phone doesn't mean I must answer.

I don't answer my door unless I know who's come a knockin'.

It backfired a few months ago when I had a doc appointment. They called to confirm from a different number than what was listed, only the message didn't say they were confirming. It said they needed to talk about my appointment the next day and I should call back. But then no one was there when I called back. I kept calling and getting "office hours are from 8 to 5", no matter what time I called. I called the second number I had and was able to leave a message, but no one returned my call.

Finally my insurance company called them in the morning and was able to get through, we told them their phones were broken, and I got my appointment confirmed. There was no way I was going to drive for an hour if there was actually a problem with the appointment. I did tell the person I talked to that if I was running an office and was confirming appointments without actually saying that's what I was doing, I'd make a second call if I hadn't heard back in a few hours. I mean, really.

I know, it was a comedy of errors to be sure. Still, I will answer unknown numbers if I have an appointment or am waiting for a call from a doc's office. Lesson learned. Sometimes it's a lot less stressful to just answer the phone, put it down and waste the scammer's time while I do something else, and let them give up on their own.

The telecoms know who the scammers are and what their real phone numbers are. They just don't care.

when I don't recognize the number, I answer it "Detective Safe, what have you got''.

Not getting as many anymore.
