Good Day DU (February 4, 2021)

Hello again! Yesterday there seemed to be a bit of support for a question of the day, and someone also liked the idea of historical trivia, so as this daily post continues to take shape, let's try this:

the most useless talent I have is that I can pronounce one of the world's longest place names:

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch

And once had a rare exchange with Skinner who was apparently there at about the same time (1983).

And thanks for doing this, reminds me of the "old days" when newyawker99 posted her Milestone threads. I always wondered how she did it. It's so good to see it back, DUers love to be recognized.

Similar to the internal clock, I find myself being able to open to the exact page of a book quite frequently. Absolutely useless talent, however it saves several seconds of my day!

I can thread a needle left-handed........but I'm right-handed.

I can wiggle my ears.

Thanks for doing this, my dear EarlG!

February 4th 1965 - The Righteous Brothers
The Righteous Brothers were at No.1 on the UK singles chart with the Phil Spector song 'You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'. Also a US No.1 at the same time. In 1999 the PRS announced that it was the most played song of the 20th Century.

February 4th 1968 - The Beatles
Working at Abbey Road studios, London, The Beatles recorded 'Across The Universe'. John and Paul decided the song needed some falsetto harmonies so they invited two girl fans into the studio to sing on the song. The two were Lizzie Bravo, a 16-year-old Brazilian living near Abbey Road and 17-year-old Londoner Gayleen Pease.

Useless talent......hmmmm

I can sing in pretty much any language with accurate dialect. I understand none of it. Okay, most of it. You do pick up some things along the way.
