Howdy Doody was a bit part of my childhood too.

I still remember the names of the characters.

OK am I mis remembering but did Mr Bluster have a twin brother who was not a grouch?

My favorite was Flubadub!

My brother had just started first grade and I was home by myself so I looked forward to the TV. Also used to watch Bandstand, it was a local Philadelphia show. I did remember a lot of Howdy Doody, but I’d forgotten so much more. It’s interesting that Sesame Street seems to owe a lot to Howdy Doody

Neither would my grandfather, but he'd have died before admitting it. Ah, the memories...black and white Sylvania TV with "Halolight." It was still playing just fine when we replaced it in 1968 with a Curtis Mathes color TV. There will never be another Howdy Doody. Thanks for sharing, packman.
