(14,858 posts)... after I tried to pretend remaining asleep one early morning, after consciously pushing out the loudest and longest fart in my entire life. (I'm lactose intolerant, and she had urged me to eat ice cream with her on the couch the previous night.)
I heard her say, "Oh... my... God!" and then my stifled laughter started shaking the bed. (It even surprised me, to be honest.)
Then came the repeated slapping to the back of my head, forcing me out of bed and me making amends with her thereafter.

(5,164 posts)Here is the original video apparently sans fart, lol. Kitty was being territorial and or dominating doggie.

(14,858 posts)The timing of the fart noise improved the funny-factor, but it's still pretty humorous. That cat's annoyed face! Lol.

(115,909 posts)Maybe it's because they don't have much in the way of actual butt cheeks, and what they do have are furry. Hence a fart will escape silently and without significant vibration. (This does not mitigate the olfactory effects, however. I once knew a Malamute who could clear a room.) The fart in the video did sound distinctly human - but it was funny anyhow. Do cats swat humans who fart?

(5,164 posts)My beagle when I was a child was my best friend... I have no memory of her farting ever. None of my cats made a sound when they farted but some of them had farting problems when they were kittens that resolved as they grew up. One baby girl had an anus squishing out issue. My cats sometimes get mad at me if I fart I think, but no violence😹 Mostly they just ignore it.
