Who's No. 4? (Jeopardy question)
After spending all day watching impeachment coverage, I felt the need to watch something else for a while, so I just watched the Jeopardy Tournament of Champions from the year James Holzhauer won it. A year or so ago I watched the Greatest of All Time tournament between Holzhauer, Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter. Holzhauer won money at a faster clip than anybody else, Rutter had never lost to Jennings or any other human before that tournament, and Jennings won the tournament and the GOAT trophy. I suppose that ranks those three as the three greatest Jeopardy players ever, but my question for y'all is: Who in y'all's opinion is the FOURTH best Jeopardy player ever? My nominee is: Emma Boettcher. She is the player who ended Holzhauer's run, when I was beginning to wonder if anybody ever would beat him. And then, when she faced off against him again in the Tournament of Champions finals, she beat him again in one of the two-day championship matches, although he won the overall championship. So she beat him twice in three matches.
