(175,729 posts)It's not bad if you're in a smaller plane (deHavilland Twin Otter 19-passenger plane), but I've also landed there in 737s that have to turn abruptly when the runway ends.
The Saba Airport is very scary, though I've always arrived they by boat. Saba's single road was built by hand because most engineers laughed at the idea of building one there. Same with the airport.
Two of the scary airports that I've ever taken off from were Hong Kong's old Kai Tak. You flew so close to apartment buildings that you thought one was going to take a wing off the plane.
Then there's Chicago's old Meigs Field. It occupied a manmade island in Lake Michigan.
