back story- he told me 2 wks ago that he is in a bout of depression. that since xmas eve, he has a hard time getting off the couch.
i love this guy. our lessons always go long, cuz we are always swapping stories.
he's married to a dear friend, or i would be alllll over him. we have said many times how fond we are of each other.
so, yesterday, he said- w each lesson, he sorta hopes the student will cancel. i had to cancel last week, and he was too gracious about it.
but he said- when i pick up the call, it brightens his day.
i feel the same. these music lessons were the biggest bright spot in the shit show that was 2020.
i look forward to mondays now. no matter how monday it has been all morning, come 1 pm, it's the best day of the week.
i am doing well, but it isnt my singing voice that cheers him up. certainly not my piano playing, which i have yet to put any real effort into. it's my joy in learning.
be that for the people that work for/with you.
if you never stop learning new things, you never get old.
imma live to be 100, and get shot by a jealous girlfriend.
